Old Trapper’s Cabin at Byers Lake
We recently went camping at Byers Lake, about 200 miles down the Parks Highway on the other side of Broad Pass. We hadn’t been there for probably 15 years. The camprground, operated by the Alaska Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation, has put in some major improvements since we were there last. The trails in the area have been expanded, and one of the new trails (at least to us) goes right by an old abandoned trapper’s cabin, built during the 1950s.
